"I absolutely LOVE this shrimp recipe, it's quite easy to make with the perfect amount of spicyness but you could always add more red pepper flakes to increase the heat"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Melt butter with the olive oil in a saute pan. When the mixture is hot, add the garlic, white pepper, red pepper flakes, oregano, and cayenne pepper making sure to stir well. When garlic looks cooked but not brown (about 3 minutes) add the shrimp. Toss the shrimp about in the pan, coating them with the spiced oil
Step 2
Add the lemon juice and keep tossing over the heat. Quickly add the parsley, bread crumbs, and Parmesan. Toss to coat completely (The shrimp should now be bright pink and cooked through). Place the pan under the broiler until cheese looks melted (1-2 minutes). Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

- When selecting shrimp, look for ones that are plump, firm, and greyish-white in color with no strong odor.
- For the Parmesan cheese, it is best to use freshly grated cheese for the most flavor.
- Instead of butter, use coconut oil. Coconut oil has a higher smoke point than butter, which makes it a better choice for high-heat cooking. It also adds a subtle sweetness to the dish that complements the spicy flavors.
- Instead of bread crumbs, use almond meal. Almond meal adds a nutty flavor and crunch to the dish, and is a healthier alternative to bread crumbs. It also adds a nice texture contrast to the creamy Parmesan cheese.
