"A really simple cocktail that originally was served warm - as a 'hot toddy' type of cocktail; but, it is absolutely delicious served chilled as a summer drink. I like to actually use orange juice in my cocktail; however lemon is the traditional citrus. My friend/bartender, taught me to add bit of club soda to lighten it up, Delicious! For something fun. I make up the base recipe and put it in individual pint mason jars - refrigerate until the party starts. Then, simply add ice and club soda; serve with a big straw and a few slices of fresh fruit slices. Fun glassware for a summer BBQ. A great summertime drink!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Base ... To a large measuring cup, or small bowl with a pour spout; add the honey and hot water. Mix until the honey has dissolved; then, add the bourbon, fresh juice and pour into the mason jars and screw on the lid; or, add to a pitcher. Cover, if using a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Step 2

Serve ... I love the mason jars - just add ice and finish with club soda, and a big straw. For the pitcher, add the club soda; then, ice in individual glasses. Garnish with lemon or orange slices, and a sprig of mint. ENJOY!
