"From the Piazza Tomasso Restaurant on Decarie Road in Montreal. This is the 1st copycat. (not ground steak but minced beef), (not ground pork but minced pork). The other recipe has prepared mustard just a dot in it. I'm not sure this has enough tomato sauce but I'm writing as written maybe add some spaghetti sauce to bump it up or tomato sauce in the beginning. Serve over pasta."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oil.

Step 2

Crush the garlic, chop the onion and parsley and add to the pan with oil and fry until golden brown.

Step 3

Add the meat cut into very small pieces, and mix and brown.

Step 4

Add spices, salt, pepper and sugar, continue to mix.

Step 5

Add the tomato puree, then the water, stir and bring to a boil.

Step 6

Then reduce the intensity of the heat and cook for 1 1/2 hours.
