Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine the ice cream, milk, extract and food coloring in a blender, and blend on High speed for several seconds or until smooth but still a thickened consistency.

Step 2

Divide the mixture among two (12-oz) parfait glasses. Add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top and garnish with a maraschino cherry. And if desired, sprinkle a generous pinch of green sugar sprinkles on top. Add a straw to each glass, and serve immediately.

Yum! This made for a fun treat after dinner. I chose the larger amount of peppermint extract so it was really minty. Next time, I'd probably go for the lesser amount as a personal preference. The consistency was perfect. Thank you for a fun St. Patrick's Day treat!

This was refreshing for a bedtime snack. I think I would reduce the amount of milk next time. McDonald's shakes are pretty thick. I used 8 drops of food coloring and 1/2 teaspoon mint.
