Marshall Field's Special Turkey Sandwich Copycat
"I think you could heat up the cheese before adding salad ingredients. The directions were not the best, so if anyone has actually seen this one, give a holler. It's a turkey wedge salad actually, not a sandwich. Good for after Thanksgiving. The person that posted and actually made this sandwich posted a thousand Island recipe which I posted here also. It was an interesting variation 1970's style."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Butter rye bread and place on a large cold serving plate.
Step 2
Cover bread with Swiss cheese slice, followed by two slices of turkey.
Step 3
Take a nice large outer lettuce leaf from the head of iceberg and set aside.
Step 4
Slice the iceberg lettuce in a few large sections and arrange a section on top of the turkey and Swiss cheese.
Step 5
Cover the open-face "sandwich" with big lettuce leaf.
Step 6
Top with several slices of turkey.
Step 7
Pour a very ample amount of dressing over the lettuce, allowing it to puddle slightly all around the plate.
Step 8
Place a slice of bacon and an olive on either side of sandwich mound.
Step 9
Place tomato slices and egg slices atop mound.
Step 10
Garnish with a large stuffed green olives.
