Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat butter and olive oil in frying pan over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add lamb and onions and cook until lamb begins to brown and onion begins to turn translucent.

Step 3

Stir in garlic, cinnamon, salt and pepper and reduce heat to low.

Step 4

Stir in green beans and add tomatoes, tomato sauce and water.

Step 5

Cover pan and cook over low heat about 1 hour, or until lamb is tender.

Step 6

Serve over cooked rice.

Ten stars! So delicious! I loved the spices in this and made it exactly as written. I can see this being made over and over - we LOVE lamb! Like others, served this over rice. This is going into my Best of 2023 list!

Reminds me of a dish from my favorite Lebanese restaurant. I used ground turkey instead of lamb and put the rice right in the pot with some extra water.

Very good meal which we enjoyed over rice. The changes I made were minor but was what I had on hand by using a 15 oz can of tomato sauce and a can of V-8 (skipping the canned tomatoes). I probably had too much liquid since I didn't use the canned tomatoes - but we really enjoyed this dish. Thanks for sharing!
