Linda's Caramel Apple Grapes
Recipe: #11614
December 27, 2013
"I made these delicious caramel nutty apple tasting grapes for my family for Christmas. I used about 4 pounds of very large grapes. It made about 120-140 grapes, which I put into 2 decorative dishes and brought to my nieces and my aunts. I used Marzetti's Old Fashioned Caramel Dip, but you could melt your own caramels and they would work just as well. These were a big hit with my family and I am sure yours will love them too. I had a little dip and a few nuts left over, but that will never go to waste in my house! This makes about 120-140 grapes, depending on size. Half the recipe makes enough for a crowd of about 10-12 people."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Wash grapes well in cold water, drain. I put them on a terry cloth dish towel, and then pat dry.
Step 2
Melt caramel dip in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Remove from microwave.
Step 3
Chop peanuts. I use my blender on the chop setting. If you want to make them finer than a chop, just choose the setting you want. Put chopped nuts in a bowl.
Step 4
Pull all grapes from the vine and put in a large bowl.
Step 5
Dip grapes, one at a time, in the caramel, then in the nuts. Place in a serving bowl, then continue to do the rest of them.
Step 6
When all the grapes are dipped put a toothpick in the center of each for serving, then refrigerate, covered in saran wrap until ready to serve. You can make double layers of these because they don't stick together.
