Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a large saucepan, cook tortellini in a large amount of salted boiling water for 10 minutes. Add broccoli and sausage. Return the pot to boiling and cook another 5 minutes. (Until pasta is tender and broccoli is tender-crisp.) Drain and return to the pan and cover to keep warm.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour. Make a roux, cooking out the taste of the flour but not browning it. Add the milk while stirring. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add cheese, mustard, hot sauce and cumin. Stir until cheese is completely melted, about 2 minute. Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta, kielbasa and broccoli. Toss to coat and serve!
