"This recipe was given to me by my Grandma in-law several years ago. It's been an all time favorite in our family for years now. I only had one red potato when I made this recipe but I also had one yam so I put it in there. It was every bit as good as the red! So now I make it red for him and orange for me! This is comfort food. The items are meant to be ate separately so that you can taste each one. The vegetables are tender crisp or a little more done. If you want to put this in the crock you can. Cook vegetables on low for 6 to 8 hours adding beef on top in the last 1 1/2 hours of cooking. "
