Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place melted butter in a 10-inch pie plate; set aside.

Step 2

Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, and baking powder; stir well. Add milk, stirring until blended. Spoon the batter over the melted butter in the pie plate.

Step 3

Combine fruit and 1 cup sugar in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes; spoon over batter (do not stir). Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.

Honestly, the name got me to try it. Plus blueberries, of course! This is one easy and amazing dessert that deserves way more than five stars. I love the way the crust "creeps" all over the place and envelopes the berries like a cloud. The sugary blueberries were a surprise, as I expected they would be like a compote at 5 minutes, but they weren't. This gave the finished dessert a crispy top with crispy, chewy edges. So good! We didn't have ice cream (darn!!!) but did use a good spritz of Redi Whip. I bet this would be really good with peaches. Thanks for sharing!

I wish there were 5 more stars for this so I could rate it 10 stars! I made this the day it came out public, it was gone in a flash the next time I made two it went almost as fast, I made it with blueberries mixed with cranberries so it was a little tart just the way we like it, incredibly easy and so good served warm with ice cream, what a hit, thank you this will be made a zillion more times, I'm going to experiment with different fruit, so yummy, thank you very much!
