Step by Step Method
Step 1
Thoroughly mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla

Add flour, salt, baking soda and nuts. Mix well

Divide dough in half and chill 30 minutes

Shape the dough into 3 rolls, each 14 inches long. Use 1/2 of the dough for the first roll, 2/3 for the second, and the remaining 1/3 for the last roll

Roll each in green sugar to evenly coat

Chill 4 hours

Heat oven to 400

Cut rolls into 1/4 inch slices

Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown on edges

Immediately remove from baking sheet

Stack 1 large, 1 medium and 1 small cookie together to form a tree, using decorator icing to hold them together. Top with a cinnamon heart "glued" in place with icing
