"Another recipe without exact measurements since everything is based upon how much you have leftover and what' in your fridge. I often roast a whole chicken and have quite of bit of meat left on the bones."

Step 1
In a heavy dutch oven, place the chicken and vegetables. Add a pinch of dill weed and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour chicken broth over so that everything is submerged.
Step 2
Cook at least 1 hour. Attempt to remove as many bones as possible. Add a handful of barley and cook another hour.
