Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat the oil in a sauce pan and fry the sausage, season with lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Add the onions and garlic stir until onions are tender but taking care not to burn the garlic.

Step 3

Add tomato paste, don't burn.

Step 4

Add paprika, water and bay leaf, mix together well.

Step 5

Add in the lima beans, thawed pearl onions and rice stirring to combine, bring to a boil.

Step 6

Turn down to simmer and cover.

Step 7

Cook for 20 minutes, take off heat and leave covered 5 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the bay leaf and season to taste.
