Bean & Sausage Stew
"This is another version of the Great Northern Bean Stew that I found in the TOH 2005 Annual Recipes. It was sent to them by Mildred Sherrer of Bay City ,TX. I've already made one recipe based off of the original, #recipe22523. If you like, you can adjust the amount of seasonings and the heat level of the sausage.If you like you can let simmer a bit longer. This,like most stews the longer they simmer the better. Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a dutch oven over medium heat,add sausage and onion then cook until meat is lightly browned and onion is tender .
Step 2
If needed drain,then return to pan and add remaining ingredients and stir well.
Step 3
Bring to a boil ,cover and reduce heat to simmer for 50 minutes , stir occasionally until veggies are tender.
