"From Darlene Kossman via Mabel Van Ert . Cooked applesauce, sugar and oleo together 5 minutes. Used 4 lb coffee cans; baked in 250 degree oven 2 hours. Everything else the same, good recipe."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine all ingredients except fruits and nuts and mix until smooth.
Step 2
Stir in fruits and nuts.
Step 3
Line the bottom of two large loaf pans or one tube pan with well-greased and floured double-thickness brown paper.
Step 4
Bake at 300 degrees for one hour (test for doneness with a toothpick).
