Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt the butter in a 12-inch skillet with a lid over MEDIUM heat.

Step 2

Add the rice, orzo, and almonds and cook, stirring, for several minutes until they are lightly toasted.

Step 3

Carefully pour in the chicken broth.

Step 4

Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, to taste.

Step 5

Stir to combine and bring to a low boil.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to LOW, cover the skillet, and cook for 20 minutes.

Step 7

Remove from the heat and let stand covered off heat for 5 minutes.

Step 8

Stir in parsley, and serve.

This pilaf is delicious...I did add a bit more salt to bring out all the flavors...and my parsley went bad...so it was omitted...it would have added a nice green color to the dish...thanks for sharing your recipe...made for "Billboard" tag game...
