Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter. (I use my food processor, but make sure it's a large one.)
Step 2: Stir in egg and almond until moist.
Step 3: Set aside 1 cup.
Step 4: Press remaining mixture into a greased 11x7 inch baking pan and bake for 5 minutes.
Step 5: Spread with jam and then drop by spoonfuls the remaining batter.
Step 6: Bake for 35 minutes or until golden.
Step 7: Sprinkle with choco-chips and return to the oven for one minute, or until chips are glossy.
Step 8: Cool completely before cutting.
