Step 1: Muddle 2-3 sprigs of mint with the sugar in the bottom of a 16 ounce glass.
Step 2: Stir in the rum.
Step 3: Squeeze the lime and add the juice to the glass, straining out any pulp.
Step 4: Add the club soda and stir gently.
Step 5: Add ice to fill the glass and stir again.
Step 6: Garnish with sugar cane and serve.
