Step 1: Remove the cabbage core and discard the core.
Step 2: Slice the cabbage into 1 to 2-inch pieces.
Step 3: In a very large skillet saute bacon over medium heat until it has cooked until limp. (Can use pepper bacon)
Step 4: Remove
Step 5: Do not drain the grease.
Step 6: Add butter
Step 7: Add bell pepper /onion if using diced here(1 cup)
Step 8: Add cabbage to the skillet, and add 1 1/2 cups of water to the skillet.
Step 9: Place a lid over the pot. It may not fit all of the way, that's ok. the cabbage will cook down.
Step 10: Keep moving cabbage around so gets evenly cooked
Step 11: After 10 minutes add the chopped tomato bacon,pepper, and salt.(to taste)
Step 12: Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes
