Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Grease 12 muffin cups.
Step 3: In a microwaveable bowl combine the raisins and rum; microwave on high for 20 seconds and set aside.
Step 4: In a bowl cream the eggs and sugar. Stir in vanilla, nutmeg and milk. Add the melted butter and mix well.
Step 5: In a large bowl combine the bread and the raisin mixture and then add the milk mixture. Stir in the mixed fruit but do not mash the fruit.
Step 6: Divide mixture among the muffin cups and bake until golden brown (35-40 minutes). Remove from muffin tin and place on individual plates; garnish with confectioners' sugar if desired.
