Step 1: Clean the potatoes and peel a thin row across the center or poke them with a fork.
Step 2: Place the cleaned potatoes and crushed garlic in a pot of salted water until potatoes are just tender but still firm, about 10 minutes.
Step 3: Drain the potatoes and toss with garlic powder, vegetable oil, butter and chives.
Step 4: Pour onto a rimmed baking sheet and place in a pre-heated 450 degree Fahrenheit oven; cook for another 15 minutes giving the pan a toss after every 5 minutes.
