Make your own coloured sugar

Post by Roxanne » Wed Oct 19, 2011 9:30 pm

With all those holidays coming up this one could be a real money-saver for those of us who like to use coloured sugar to decorate cookies. I personally like that it is inexpensive and you can make any colour you like, bright or pastel.

Thanks for the tip, Roxanne! My grandmother showed me how to do this, years ago. It's nice to be able to make any shade you choose, and so much less expensively than store-bought.

I like making my own colored sugar too. Not only is it cheaper, but it tastes better too.

I've passed this in to some friends who are coming to our annual cookie swap!
