Mini Thanksgiving
Sarah can't come until Christmas since she has to work the next morning.
No one is coming from out of town as either cant travel or already have other plans.
I'd like to do something special for just Bill and me since we will be busy anyway and wonder what anyone has for great small ideas. Doesn't have to be turkey or big, but I do special. Cost is no object.
If you have ideas for things to make or cook, throw them at me.
I am looking for inspiration, please?
How do you rock dinner for 2 people?

I usually do a corn souffle; and a type of warm spinach (or favorite mixed greens) Endive is also really good mixed; with caramelized onions, mixed dried fruit, toasted nuts, cranberry vinaigrette. You can even top with a good blue or goat cheese.
It's simple, elegant, but nothing too hard either. It's still comfort food.
And, you can make the spinach salad your own.
Dessert ... you know I dont eat sweets much; but; I love a pumpkin ice cream with a hazelnut caramel and fresh fruit.
Dessert ... you have to look else where. Otherwise, a pumpkin flan would be my choice by far.

Duchess potatoes sound good especially if I do just a few in ramekins.
I also have a small rack of lamb in freezer and some lobster tails.
I may have to try some of that lobster mac & cheese everyone is going mad about.
I saw some nicely boned chix breasts with skin at Findlay market today. It made me think of doing mini turduckhens (sp?) inside out, with turkey inside the duck inside the chicken breast and tied. Maybe with a fresh herb smear like chicken kiev?
Or I may just do an appie spread. We always love those. But usually have them Christmas Eve.
