Re: Grilling/Smoking
- Check and/or refill your propane, or get new wood and charcoal
- For me, I always do a good washing of my grill ... I use my pressure washer - works great
- In FL, it is year round. But, every month, I do a good cleaning of my grill. I always re-stock my wood chips, and wood for my smoker; and, I get fresh charcoal for my other grill.
- And, every time I grill, especially with gas ... I leave the grill on 5 minutes after I remove what I grilled to burn off any excess on the grill. Then, clean with my brush, and season.
This keeps your grill healthy and happy. I keep my grill clean, just like my stove. And, in FL, I keep mine covered. Summer rains can really do a number on the grill. The cover does help. But ... if you are NOT an avid griller ...Take Note. A cover is good, but you do need to remove it now and then to dry out. The cover just protects it from getting soaked daily.
Charcoal grills are a bit different, but still need TLC; and I keep mine covered as well.
For smoking ... I just picked up some nice dried hickory and oak; and a new bag of mesquite, hickory, and apple wood. Great for smoking this summer.
