You know what they say about the best laid plans, I did not get to the major deadheading and fertilizing the garage plantings as planned, seeing it has warmed will make it a far better day.
The gorgeous huge blossoms on a number of my red geraniums had me get out a couple of my rose bowls to enjoy indoors over the holidays. The furbabies will enjoy having extra play time time. as I work among the plantings. I think to you Patti each time I head out with a watering can, my back thanks me for not having to push a a load of wood! You impress me to no end!
Late afternoon saw me do the oven clean, it was okay but it's an old pre holiday ritual! As I did a vinegar wipe and shine this morning it looked so good had me wonder if I need all the cleaning products I have on hand! Must dig out the recipe for the glass cleaner that works like a charm. On to another busy day - five days til that plane lands.

You certainly are a Busy Betty! Happy to hear that all is coming together for Christmas! And your excitement at family coming makes you warm and fuzzy inside!

Ahhhh...a day of rest (mostly)! Just doing 1 wheelbarrow of wood, caring/feeding the fur babies and making dinner....that's it!!!
We are expecting snow today. Temps have risen to 1-3C during the day. So a good day cuddled up with Chico and fiber. Hope your day is one of rest too Gerry!

Cougar in our area!!! Saw video from a friend just down the road...and it showed the cougar walking right passed his home and vehicle! So taking good precautions as I let the pooches out (always on leash).

Surprisingly a Cougar was sighted very close to our home in the Qu'appelle valley back in the day, the most frightening was daughter seeing it in a tree quietly watching her. It left the area shortly after. Do take care!
Obviously I will never be lonely, if adding in the rescues I must be very blessed!

Off to an early morning start to the day and already way past the 10 extras for the day. Woke to a minus 31 morning and at the moment no wind but that will likely change as we are under a snowfall warning and likely not going to be pretty out there. Knowing the chances of travel conditions being dangerous I have a grocery delivery on for this morning.
Having spent two afternoons doing the garage plants has me super happy that the baby is becoming very social, I know he deserves a young family but I am so tempted to keep that gorgeous baby!
That said I can't resist this morning's quote ...

Re: ~ Click to Feed the Animals ~
Another early five o'clock morning and a chilly one as well with one lot of snow and temp of 'feels like minus 34' we remain under a heavy snowfall warning. Good thing I thought as much and assured extra food and water out for my rescues yesterday. Not about to try to maneuver out there until the walkways get done.
Looking to a long day today then to a mini home family holiday til the 5th of January. Messages from gran sees to six cheeses from Toronto's specialty shops and Toronto coffee along with goodies for the planned charcuteries to add to family get togethers. The turkey sandwiches, charcuteries along with our fav holiday soups will see to lighter choices between the main holiday meals.
Another that is not quite a quote but too good not to be shared, the early morning wake up calls from our cats ... "They think of you as part of their colony, they worry about you being knocked out all night and are checking to be sure you're alive"
Re: ~ Click to Feed the Animals ~
A 'feels like minus 37' morning saw me up the heat so nice and cozy in here. I must be getting my energy level back or maybe it's knowing I need extra time for the last of the planned clean as my wake up at 3:30 saw me up and at it. Got enough of 'ten extras' to take me well into the New Year. Not planned I saw the kitchen through a guests eyes and washed off the walls and then on to cleaning windows, doors and mirrors. Maybe put on some sun glasses or dim the lights?
Meanwhile the 'holidays' got off to a surprise start last night from the grans who stopped by with supper and brought their beautiful and super happy baby Golden Doodle. Plane landed safely late last night and will be driving out later this morning, tonight super at the grans. Now off to get the rest of the essentials and put on a loaf of bread. Hope all is going well at your house.
