Ten o'clock sees us at feels like 9 and possible rain, hearing that s word might be happening soon I will to get to some essentials out there today. Seems to be a touch breezy too. I may have to bury the pots into the garden boxes, it works but so wanted to have it all done. I definitely must dig out some much warmer outdoor gear.
Good to hear those wood bays are well stocked, you have been super busy! Great quotes Patti, always look forward to your morning choices!

A wow of a morning temperature wise, was minus 2 when I got up and dropping to minus 4 feels like minus 7 with snow predicted. Has me thinking to tossing a coin whether I will be sensible and stay in or find warmer clothes for some essentials making for screaming joints. Hoping your day goes well. If indoors have a couple roaster pans of tomatoes ready to go for more of the puree I use for Butter Chicken.
This one always comforting but following although days like today not that easy to follow through!

An early morning temp of 6 feels like 1 but promises an 18 degree afternoon, you know where I will be! I have potted plants, couple packages of the huge gorgeous purple alliums, daffodils and garlic to get into the ground and of course the water system needs to be drained and shut off as I think to earlier forecasts. The weekend sounds promising. I did get roaster pans of lovely pasatta sauce done yesterday. Not sure why but most of my tomatoes are ripening I may not see home grown winter tomatoes this year.

Some days Gerry...I wish I had your kind of busy!!
When I got to town yesterday...it was a combo of rain and snow. After coming home it turned to just snow. It stayed on the ground a few hours and then it rained and all the snow was gone. In the past...it was normal to have snow in October and stay for 6 months. Our morning temps have been -1C - 4C.

My daughter sent a photo of Highway 1 yesterday. It was FLOODED! Bad storm hit the coast carrying heavy rains. I have never seen or heard of our coastal highways flooding here before. I do not watch/listen to news so only hear from family what is happening there. And it is raining here today...supposed to be all day.

So sorry to hear about the flooding, my computer opens up to news headlines around the world, noted the flooding which I followed up on this morning. With more rain to come have to hope everyone is taking care to stay safe. You quote was right on Patti.
Had nice weekend weather putting the garden to bed and seeing to getting as much watered before I shut off the water for the winter. I see it should be warm enough for me to be out there before lunch today. The babies here are smart they already are on 'winter hours' which sees them still nicely snuggled in bed warmed by the heated mattress! (I really need to change the time on this site as it is set on eastern time seeing me at nine thirty instead of seven thirty which makes it two hours later than it is!
Not quite a quote but one that has me often wishing for simple on and off ... "Remembering the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch"

OMW...seeing the veteran hugging his furry best friend...brought tears to my eyes and the realization that we are so very blessed to have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies!!! How can we not help in one capacity or another?????
Ahhh...I remember well the the simple times of the On and Off switch! Not no mo'!! Longing for the good ol' days!
Sounds like you have everything under control for the winter garden! Nice sense of satisfaction, no doubt!
Off to town this morning...getting our Covid and Flu shots! It is 2C this morning and not raining.

Seems quiet outside, been raining, come ten o'clock some of that white stuff coming down. Did shut the water off in the front but thinking maybe best to do the same in the back. Still hoping for a few more mild days this month.
