Yep...split and hauled 4 big wheelbarrows of wood into the basement yesterday morning. Our temps are on the drop...-8C this morning and is supposed to drop to-14C. So I will be bringing in more wood while it is still mild. ha ha
Hope your temps Gerry are not too cold! I know your fur babies will keep you warm!
If only.........

Admittedly have to be in awe of any women who can split and haul 4 big wheelbarrows of wood into the basement, as for me playing the catch up game. A dull feels like minus 31 morning, essentials done decided to make it a curling morning seeing one of our prairie teams is in the quarter finals, that could see the need to watch more of the games this weekend! As I have been reminded the work will always be there so make time for that which will not.
Your Robert M. Pirsig quote so perfect for doing the best we can in this troubled world of ours.
Have to love this Stephen Hawking quote, off to have an extra coffee and watch the game.

A feels like minus 31 day plans to water the garage plants no longer on the agenda. Have to hope it warms as have to love working among the blooming pots of gorgeous geraniums, lovely herbs and budding tall and fragrant nicotiana which when wintered gives a head start to spring planting.
This one provided lovely holiday blooms when placed in the rose bowls, it's one that has bloomed nonstop for years and years.
As has this pink. On the plant stand across from the wall to wall counter of geraniums are the beautiful oranges and the vivid plums which are equally lovely. They have the ongoing bloom time as well. Far wonder I love spending time out there but would rather not up the heater to avoid extra heating costs when it's 30 below.
Just looking at the photos has me know how plantings I love no matter how tired can make for rest, peace and joy ... "There are two types of tired, one that requires rest and one that requires peace"

It's COLD, it was a feels like minus 44 when I went to bed, this morning it's still minus feels like minus 45. I will be wearing gloves to go to the garage today, yesterday's evening feeding time saw my hands wanting to stick to the door handle.
A friend in the country said her thermometer saw it 49 below yesterday morning. Surprisingly forty below is forty below in both celsius and fahrenheit. As long as our power holds thankfully we are warm but the chill creeps in. Thinking to all who are working in this cold as well as the poor animals out in this dreadful cold. Hope you are faring better with your temps Patti.

STUNNING PHOTOS GERRY! Ah...the beauteousness of Spring in winter! Awesome...thank you for brightening my morning!
Our temps are sure better than yours...only -11C this morning. Still cold and need to bring in wood this morning. I did not do any physical work yesterday...so am raring to go! LOL
“In friendship...we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years' difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of another...the accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting--any of these chances might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are, strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at work. Christ, who said to the disciples, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you," can truly say to every group of Christian friends, "Ye have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another." The friendship is not a reward for our discriminating and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each of us the beauties of others.” C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

Have to love that Lily Tomlin quote Patti!

I have always known about time and love...but did not know how beauteously it is in the written word! Thanks for posting Gerry!
We did get more snow...but not as much as predicted (so far). Did not shovel...only brought in wood. Just finished making my curried egg salad for sammies on brioche buns to go with homemade veggie and chicken soup for dinner.

While it has warmed up to a feels like minus 14 and not super windy but one that has a bone chilling bite to it. Thinking to turn up the heat. Find I really enjoy the Rumi quotes Patti and that one stirs a gardener's heart thinking to the summer roses blooming in all their glory.
Reading this one made for my laugh of the day.
