It was a sunny but cool day here today. I ran a bunch of errands today to prepare for the long weekend. It is Victoria day here in Canada this weekend. It is a very busy weekend here...

Been spending one lot of time doing spring clean up in my yard and garden, come spring I about live outside. Heavy smoke from both Alberta and Northern Saskatchewan descended upon us yesterday, wind cleared off most for today but woke to feel like minus one temperatures - cold so basically a couple of indoor catch up days. Have to hope temps warm and smoke stays away for long weekend so I can finally get to do my first barbecue of the season! Yes to busy ...

Gerry, I live in Ontario and we can see the smoke in the sky from here..... I was curious about where the smoke was coming from and I was surprised to find that this is coming from the prairies.

I had my morning laugh of the day thinking to having used the term catch up, my back said who are you kidding! No giving up here, all said and done I will pick my battles and juggle! Son build three more garden boxes for me so all the veggies will grow be growing in triple mix and the big bags of potting soil. The ease of gardening and the tremendous yields make it s worth it. The fires continue to burn but we are clear of smoke this morning and warm temperatures in store for the weekend. Plans are for an outdoor day.

Gentle rain for a couple of days, should be able to work the areas around garden boxes and the garden area where the patio paved pathways see to a dry surface. Between weather, wind and appointments I still need to get to the main planting. Had some really warm days but some mornings and nights are downright chilly. Amazing how the perennials manage to grow and bloom!
