Step by Step Method

Step 1

Trim any scrappy bits off the ribs.

Step 2

Combine the rest of the ingredients in a shallow ovenproof dish and then lay the ribs in the dish, making sure both sides are coated and then cover the dish with foil and bake in a 150C oven for two hours, basting and turning at least once during this time.

Step 3

By this stage the meat should be tender.

Step 4

Now you have 2 choice; you may either turn up the oven to 250C, remove the foil and roast the ribs, turning and basting often with the cooking liquid until they are well coloured, or you may look to the barbecue, which leaves you with an easier dish to clean and if you decide on the latter, barbecue the ribs and basting them frequently with the remaining marinade/sauce until they are well browned.

Step 5

Then simply cut the ribs into sections, pile high on a serving plate and serve with plenty of napkins.

I have to give this a 5 star rating because they were sticky...I couldn't locate the Chinese BBQ sauce so I found a recipe on line and just cut it down to a 1/2 cup serving...it turns out the ingredients are almost what the additional ingredients are in the recipe...these were delicious...I used the 1st choice in the cooking method...not sure how easy it will be to clean my pan...it's soaking in the sink...the ribs were falling off the bone...made for "First Time" tag game...
