"Nothing regionally "authentic" about this, but it's how we like it. :) Substitute canned black beans for a change of taste, or use 1 can each of kidney and black beans. Adjust "heat" to your tastes by adding or subtracting red chili pepper flakes."

I cut the recipe in half and used ground chicken that I had left over from another recipe...this makes a lot...loved all the flavors and you get a hint of the liquid smoke...I increased the chile and pepper flakes...we love heat.. this is a keeper...made for FYC tag game...

Very good and very spicy! I did make some changes to this recipe by using only one pound of ground turkey and as I did not have any tomato sauce I used a second can of tomatoes along with a can of chicken broth. Next time I will cut down on the chili powder a bit or use the mild as suggested. I think my chili powder is "hot" but used regular red pepper flakes instead of the red chili pepper flakes. Good chili which we enjoyed! Thanks for sharing!

I made this as instructed except for using a chipotle pepper and tomato sauce instead of canned tomato sauce. This was enough for 4 generous portions and we had some left over. I will be making this recipe again for sure. Thanks for sharing it here with us.
