"This is a great way to enjoy a pork roast, it is pure comfort food. I serve this up with mashed potatoes to drizzle the juices over. You can thicken up the juices into a gravy by stirring in a mixture of 1 tablespoon corn starch and 1 tablespoon water just before serving if you like but this is not necessary."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Generously season the roast with ground pepper and place into the crock of a slow cooker.

Step 2

Add the remaining ingredients, cover the slow cooker and cook over high heat for 4 hours or until pork is fall off the bone tender.

I went to make this recipe and gave my wife the shopping list, she came home without the mushrooms and I already had the roast thawed. I improvised ! Left out the hot sauce and added an 8oz can of chipotles in adobo sauce, guess I did not make this recipe after all but it turned out amazing anyway. Next time I have a pork roast and mushrooms I will make as written. Thanks Bea.

An awesome roast. Have to love when kitchen time is limited come supper the wafting aroma of an awesome pork roast from the slow cooker has you know the meal is ready to serve. We love both tender pork roast and mushrooms. Other than adding chunks of onion I made as posted. So easy - so good!
