"We love variety which has us enjoying a number of great tasting marinades. This one is our go to. Quick and easy. If needing to tenderise we leave it overnight or longer."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

I make mine in a lidded plastic container (the kind you use for layer cakes) add the steaks, cover and refrigerate. (Large plastic bags set in a container works well too) be sure not to skip the container - bags can spring a leak.

Step 2

Combine ingredients, pour over meat

Step 3

Add slices of onions and green peppers, cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Be sure to turn the meat to assure it all gets evenly marinated

Step 4

When ready to cook, remove pat dry with paper towels before grilling

I used the marinade for country style pork ribs (grilled), so I added the recommended extra brown sugar (brown sugar substitute, actually -- it's what was in the cupboard) and this was fantastic. My son said it was the best pork I'd ever grilled, and I grill a lot of pork. The marinade made it so flavorful, so tender and it was so easy to make! I love that it used common ingredients. This is an exceptional marinade and I highly recommend it. Made for Billboard Tag here in the 'Zazz forums. Come play with us!

Made it with Stubbs brand original barbecue sauce and Teeny Tiny Spice Co.'s montreal seasoniing to marinate a rib-eye steak. Came out tender and delicious.

Very good -- we used this on steaks that were on sale and we did let it marinate all day -- for really tender and flavorful steaks. I did use the option of using 2 T of barbecue sauce (instead of the ketchup and bbq sauce). Will be using again soon! Thanks for sharing!

I'm rating the marinade for it's flavor...but not my steak...I think I found the most tough steak in the world...bottom round steak...that's what I get for buying steak on sale...I let it marinade for two days...I don't think a year would have tenderized that piece of leather...I cut the recipe in half because there's just the two of us...the marinade was very flavorful...and easy to prepare...made for "Billboard" tag game...

We are still grilling out and this was an excellent marinade for some sirloin steaks I bought. We loved how tender and flavorful these yummy steaks were! I marinated them for about 16 hours. The longer the better in my book!!
