Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven 350F.
Step 2
Grease 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Step 3
Beat the egg slightly. Add butter and sugar, beat until smooth.
Step 4
Pour orange juice and zest into an 8 oz measuring cup..Add boiling water to the 1 cup mark (apprx 1/3 cup).
Step 5
Stir zest, juice and vanilla into the batter
Step 6
In another bowl place flour, baking powder, soda and salt..Add dates, mix.
Step 7
Pour flour into the batter..Mix gently just to moisten.
Step 8
Spoon into prepared loaf pan.
Step 9
Bake in 350f oven for appprx 1 hour or until a toothpick comes our clean.
Step 10
Cool 10 minutes.
