Step by Step Method

Step 1

BASE, in mixing bowl combine and mix flour, sugar and butter

Step 2

Pat down into a 9x12 pan. Bake in a 350 oven for 15 minutes or until delicately browned

Step 3

TOP, mix topping ingredients, In saucepan bring to boil over medium heat, lower heat cook and stir for 3 minutes

Step 4

Bake 10 - 15 minutes in 350 oven. Watch carefully - do not over bake. Cool

These squares are absolutely delicious! I made 1/2 the recipe and baked in an 8x8” pan. The crust is less sweet (which is a good thing) and the topping is sweet and nutty. I cooled for 10 minutes in the pan, then cut the squares and removed them from the pan to cool fully. My group all enjoyed these squares.
