Freezing Herbs and Spices

Post by MarthaMyDear » Thu Jul 19, 2012 10:12 am

Hope I'm posting this in the right area (newbie!) :D

I bought a big bag of dried Turkish Bay Leaves at Penzey's yesterday.

I only use Bay Leaves now and then, usually in beans or chicken soup. How would be the best way to preserve them? Should I leave them in their heavy resealable ziplock-type plastic packaging in the pantry or freeze them in same packaging?

Thanks in advance!

Martha

When I buy a huge bag I separate them into small ziploc bags and refrigerate the bags, they will last forever in the fridge or if you like you can freeze them, that's what I do I don't know if there is a better way but that works for me,welcome to Zazz Martha!
